Lucy Edwards is a broadcaster, journalist and disability activist who lost her full eyesight at 17 to a rare genetic disease and made it her mission to tell her story and shine a spotlight on the challenges facing other disabled people.

Lucy has worked with the BBC since 2017, at the age of 20, producing content for Ouch! Disability Talk, BBC Radio 4’s In Touch, and BBC News Online. She’s also presented various TV shows – including a travel show about accessibility in Japan.

More recently Lucy launched a podcast with her husband called ‘But I’d Never Marry A Blind Woman‘, which aims to change the perception of interabled couples, and to offer advice and insight to other disabled people.
