Siobhán Fitzpatrick is a wheelchair basketball player who’s taken home medals in the Wheelchair Basketball World Championships and European Championships. A member of the Athlete’s Advisory Committee for the 2022 Commonwealth Games and a competitor in the 2020 Summer Olympics, Siobhán also had an extensive junior career.

She co-captained the women’s team to back-to-back championship wins at the 2015 U25 Worlds and 2016 U24 Europeans – a feat not achieved by any other female GB junior team. Having visited her local Sense service, Sense Touchbase Pears in Selley Oak, Siobhán has witnessed firsthand the difference the charity makes to the people it supports.

Sense is a fantastic charity with 70 years’ experience supporting disabled people, and I’m delighted to be invited on board as an ambassador as Sense celebrates this milestone year.

It’s so important that disabled people can access and connect with the world around them, and that’s exactly what charities like Sense are striving towards.
