Sense Ambassador: Lisette Auton

Lisette Auton is an author, playwright, activist and performer, who has supported Sense as a judge during its most recent Sense Awards. Lisette is passionate about telling the stories she struggled to find growing up – those that reflected her northern, working class, disabled and neurodivergent experience.

Lisette, who was discovered after winning a competition held by publishers Puffin, has recently published her third children’s book to feature a young, disabled protagonist. She hopes her books inspire young people to follow their dreams.

“I’m thrilled to be an Ambassador for Sense, a charity that has supported so many remarkable disabled adults and children with complex needs over its 70-year history.

I’m passionate about seeing more disability representation in books and on our screens, and hope that together we could build a more inclusive, accessible world where disabled people can do whatever their hearts desire!”
