Professor Greg Whyte OBE is an Olympian in modern pentathlon and a European and World medalist. He is a specialist in the field of sports, exercise and health science, and currently a Professor of Applied Sport and Exercise Science at Liverpool John Moore’s University.

Greg’s former roles include Director of Research for the British Olympic Association and Director of Science & Research for the English Institute of Sport. Greg, who was voted as one of the Top 10 Science Communicators in the UK by the British Science Council, is well-known for his involvement in charity challenges and has applied his sports science work to assist various celebrities.

Greg has trained, motivated and successfully coached participants in 39 Sport & Comic Relief and Children in Need challenges, helping to raise over £65 million for charity.

He supports Sense’s campaign to make sport more accessible for disabled people with complex needs, including through the charity’s innovative reimagining of traditional sports like snooker, tennis and football.

The health and wellbeing of disabled people has long been shockingly neglected by the authorities, and it’s great to see charities like Sense striving to work towards long-term change.

The charity puts inclusivity and accessibility at the heart of not just its ground-breaking sports programme, but everything Sense does to support disabled people with complex needs in the UK.

There are huge physical benefits to getting involved in Sense Active’s programme of activities, as well as mental, emotional and social health benefits too, leading to improved quality of life. I’m very happy to support the charity as it enters its 70th year – a huge milestone.
