This self-led sensory walk is a fantastic sensory experience through newly renovated Chandos Recreation Ground<\/a> in Edgware, using our mapped route. This walk should take around 20 minutes, at a leisurely pace. Taking part in this activity will support individuals with exploration, endurance, confidence.<\/p>\n There is plenty to take in around the ground. This park has recently undergone significant renovations as part of the Action for Silk Stream project,<\/a> enhancing its natural beauty and facilities for the local community. This renovation includes highlights such as; an outdoor gym; rainwater ponds and bridges; the Chandos Park bug hotel; green space courts; and plenty of sports and games areas.<\/p>\n This activity is created for disabled people with complex needs of all abilities. All ages and abilities are welcome to follow the route.<\/p>\n This activity has been set up to enjoy without an instructor or facilitator. The route can be found on the OS website\/app, which will allow you to follow the route and will also include sensory highlights to check out along the way. All park entrances, including from the car park, offer step-free access, ensuring smooth entry for wheelchair users, families with prams, and others requiring level access. The main terrain consists of mainly flat and even pathways. Please note that the park gently slopes downward toward the Silk Stream on the north side. While the paths remain accessible, wheelchair users may require assistance when navigating this area due to the incline. There are also two wooden bridges on route, which are suitable and safe for wheelchair users.<\/p>\n There is a free car park located here: 166a Camrose Ave, Edgware HA8 6BZ.
