Our sensory garden at Sense TouchBase Pears is more than just a pretty space \u2014 it\u2019s a welcoming place where everyone can relax, explore, and connect with nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Filled with colourful flowers, textured plants, and the sounds of birds and bees, these gardens are designed to awaken the senses and to be inclusive to all visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accessibility is central to the design of our sensory garden. Wide, smooth, and level pathways ensure that visitors using wheelchairs can move around freely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The garden is step free and includes resting areas with benches making the space safe and comfortable. Raised planting beds are another key feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our carefully designed outdoor space stimulates the senses through plants, textures, sounds, and scents. The garden is built with inclusivity in mind, offering people of all abilities an opportunity to connect with nature in meaningful ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For disabled people with complex needs, our space can be particularly beneficial, providing therapeutic experiences that encourage relaxation and engagement with nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The garden has been planted with a selection of flowers that provide strong scents, while plants with distinctive textures like ornamental grasses bring a tactile experience. Rustling leaves from the trees and the smells from lavender create a calming and immersive atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For visually impaired people, textured paving and accessible signage, including Braille, make the garden easier to navigate. Accessible seating, and quiet corners give visitors comfortable places to rest and socialise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also have speakers throughout the garden with sounds that vary throughout the year, depending on the seasons and our events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
