This activity can be done at a time that suits you, either in your own space or in an educational setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sense.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Sense033-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"A man playing cricket indoors, hitting a ball that's coming towards him\" class=\"wp-image-6458\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is this for?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a sports activity for people or groups of people who are deafblind or have complex needs, and can be enjoyed by anyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why does this make a difference?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This activity supports social inclusion and getting active, and helps people use their senses to connect with their surroundings, while learning&nbsp;new skills and&nbsp;building confidence&nbsp;while&nbsp;making friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to play<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What you\u2019ll need<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-primary-bullets\">\n<li>Two \u2018wickets\u2019, like chairs, cones, or similar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A ball<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to set up<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-primary-bullets\">\n<li>Set up your \u2018wickets\u2019 about 5-6m apart<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The participant who is batting&nbsp; stands close to the first wicket, with their back to it, so they\u2019re facing the second wicket at the other end<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The fielders stand around the edge of the arena, also facing the second wicket<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rules of the game<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-primary-bullets\">\n<li>The batter holds the ball and then starts by pushing or throwing it as far as they can<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The fielders try to catch or grab the ball<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As soon as the ball is released, the batter starts moving around both wickets as many time as possible to collect \u2018runs\u2019 while the fielders are catching the ball<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once a fielder has got the ball, they throw it at the second wicket to end the turn and hit the batter out<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n  <div class=\"wp-block  box    is-style-textured-secondary-tint-10\">    <div class=\"acf-innerblocks-container\">\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Top tips<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-secondary-bullets\">\n<li>Make it easier or harder with different sized balls<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use bright colours for the ball and wickets, or play a sound every time a run is scored to make it more sensory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This cricket-inspired game is a fun way to get active as a group, playing with a ball and two wickets.
