Yesterday, 7 March 2023, we went to Downing Street to hand in our cost of living petition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re so grateful that over 80,000 of you signed the petition to ask the government to do more to support disabled people and their families during this crisis. Your signatures have helped us show that this is an issue that can\u2019t be ignored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re pleased that last year the government announced they would uplift benefits in line with inflation and provide additional costs of living payment for disabled people. This shows they\u2019re listening and the message is starting to get through. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, we know this support is not enough for the ongoing challenges disabled people face. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next week, the government will announce their new spending plans and we really hope to see ongoing, sustainable support announced for disabled people and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We know there\u2019s still more work to be done and we\u2019ll be continuing to campaign on this issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
